So we did both.<\/p>\n<p>Well, actually these are just the same old views and filters you already know and love, with an extra layer of Zenkit magic. With the all-new views, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create multiples of each view type<\/li>\n<li>Remove views you don\u2019t need or use<\/li>\n<li>Change the order of views in your view menu<\/li>\n<li>And attach filters to views<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That last point is the real killer here. With this update, you can attach a specific saved filter to a view you\u2019ve set up, so that each time you access that view or open your collection, the filter will automatically be applied.<\/p>\n<p>Views are all personal, so when you set up a new view, only you can see it. They\u2019re designed to help you navigate through your collection and quickly change your focus without having to click through too many view and filter settings.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How to Add a New View<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019ll see a + icon at the top of your view menu or panel. Click on it and choose the view you\u2019d like to add, then rename it, set up whatever options you want for that view (item size, Kanban grouping, visible columns, image location, etc) and you\u2019re good to go!<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10046 size-full\" title=\"screenshot of how to add a new view in zenkit\" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/adding-a-new-view.png\" alt=\"screenshot of zenkit views\" width=\"450\" height=\"628\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/adding-a-new-view.png 450w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/adding-a-new-view-215x300.png 215w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>To re-order them and bring your most-used views up to the top, simply drag and drop them.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Attaching a Filter<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to attach a filter to your view, simply apply a saved filter, then go to your view options by clicking on the \u2018V\u2019 icon next to its name, hit the &#8220;\u2026&#8221; icon and click &#8220;Attach &#8220;filter\u201d&#8221;.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10060 size-full\" title=\"a screenshot showing how to attach a saved filter to a zenkit view\" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/attaching-a-filter.png\" alt=\"how to attach a filter to a zenkit view\" width=\"450\" height=\"629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/attaching-a-filter.png 450w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/attaching-a-filter-215x300.png 215w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Now whenever you go to that view, the filter is already applied and waiting for you to use it. You can navigate away or close your collection, and next time you return the filter will be there waiting for you.<\/p>\n<p>One thing to note is that the filters you apply to a view are just the default filter for that view. Once you start working with other filters or adding new filter conditions, the default filter will no longer apply. To return to the original filter, just choose it from your list of saved filters.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Deleting a View<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Not a big fan of tables? Don\u2019t need a Kanban board for your study mind map? Mind maps not useful for your editorial calendar? Simply remove them! Deleting a view decreases the clutter and lets you focus on the tools you need.<\/p>\n<p>To delete a view, just click on that same\u00a0\u2026 icon in the view\u2019s options, and choose \u2018Delete\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about how to create and customize your views in our <a href=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/documentation#\/lists\/HJQBQ1Hw\/sections\/ByG-c9G0\/entries\/rJzNlM4tM?_k=671xpm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>How You Can Use Custom Views<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Since this is closely tied to filters, you can pretty much set up your views just like your favourite filters:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Kanban view that shows only tasks assigned to you in your team\u2019s main tasks collection.<\/li>\n<li>A list view that shows your completed tasks so you can archive them at the end of the week.<\/li>\n<li>A table view that shows your biggest customers, sorted by lifetime value.<\/li>\n<li>A calendar view that shows all the people you\u2019re supposed to follow up with today.<\/li>\n<li>A mind map that focuses on only one particular branch.<\/li>\n<li>A Kanban view that only shows high-priority tasks that are not yet complete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I could go on thinking up ideas, but nobody knows what you\u2019d use views for better than you do!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>We hope you enjoy this latest update!
