If you want to take it up a notch, you can add a member&#8217;s username to the email to automatically assign the email to them!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14610 size-full\" title=\"green email to collection icon with confetti on a blue background\" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection.png\" alt=\"email to collection icon with confetti\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection.png 1000w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-768x384.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yeah&#8230; it&#8217;s pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how you can use it:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Triage your emails and send all to-dos to the right collections.<\/li>\n<li>Share the email address with other people so they can e.g. send feedback on a product directly to a feedback collection.<\/li>\n<li>Forward actionable emails to your GTD Inbox.<\/li>\n<li>Send new leads to a sales lead collection.<\/li>\n<li>Create a guest list from responses to your email invitations&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>&#8230; and million other ways!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Enabling Email-to-Collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>E2C is a <a href=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/documentation#\/lists\/HJQBQ1Hw\/sections\/BkPFGISFZ\/entries\/B1G9z8rYZ?_k=ukbuob\">collection-level add-on<\/a>, just like the Task List and Calendar Sync add-ons. To enable it, click on your collection&#8217;s name, then &#8216;Properties&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14584 size-full\" title=\"add on section with enable email to collection button \" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-snippet.png\" alt=\"enable email to collection button\" width=\"307\" height=\"116\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-snippet.png 307w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-snippet-300x113.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 307px) 100vw, 307px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Go to the &#8216;Add-ons&#8217; tab, then click on &#8216;Enable&#8217; under &#8216;Email to Collection&#8217;.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Get Your Collection&#8217;s Email Address<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When you click &#8216;Enable&#8217;, it&#8217;ll open a new box that shows the email address and all of the settings. The first thing you&#8217;ll see at the top is a box containing the collection&#8217;s email address. This is the basic address that will create items in your name since your username is included at the front of the address.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14548 size-full\" title=\"email to collection in zenkit showing the unique email address \" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings.png\" alt=\"email to collection in zenkit unique email address\" width=\"600\" height=\"669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings.png 600w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings-269x300.png 269w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To assign another user to the new item, you just need to add their username after yours, like this: yourname+theirname+&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Click on &#8216;Show more examples&#8217; to see examples of this for assigning an item to yourself, and to someone else in your collection.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Email-to-Collection Settings<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You can choose how and where information from your email appears in your collection.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14575 size-full\" title=\"zenkit email to collection field settings showing how to choose a sender field\" src=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings-2.png\" alt=\"zenkit email to collection field settings\" width=\"600\" height=\"690\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings-2.png 600w, https:\/\/zenkit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/email-to-collection-settings-2-261x300.png 261w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Position<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8216;Position&#8217; section refers to where the new item should land inside your collection. In the list and table views, this means that the item will appear at the top or the bottom of the list\/table. In Kanban view, if you&#8217;ve set a default label, it will appear at the top or the bottom of that list. If you don&#8217;t have a default label applied, it&#8217;ll appear in a new &#8216;no label assigned&#8217; list. It won&#8217;t appear in the calendar view unless you choose to include the &#8216;Sent Date&#8217; (more on that later), and it will appear in the &#8216;unconnected&#8217; panel of the mind map view.<\/p>\n<h3>Email Fields<\/h3>\n<p>There are a few fields set up by default but you can customize how email information is added to items, just click on &#8216;Show details&#8217;. By default, the subject line becomes a new item title, the email body lands in the first text field in your collection, and attachments will be sent to the first file field on your item. You can change all of this, of course!<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Sender&#8217; field will take the sender&#8217;s email address and add it to a text field in the collection. Note: You can&#8217;t choose the same text field multiple times, so if you only have one text field in your collection and you want to have the email body &amp; sender, then you need to create another text field to contain that info.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Sent Date&#8217; field takes the date the email was sent and adds it to a date field.
